Groundwater Stakeholder Survey
As part of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act, members of the Stanislaus and Tuolumne River Groundwater Basin Association (STRGBA) have begun preparing a Groundwater Sustainability Plan. Our region is a high priority subbasin, which requires adoption and implementation of a Groundwater Sustainability Plan on or before January 31, 2022. We have put together a survey to learn more about your groundwater issues and/or concerns as well as collect general water user information and opinions. Input from the survey will serve as a valuable tool as STRGBA develops the Groundwater Sustainability Plan. Individual responses will remain anonymous.

2017 SWRCB Frequently Asked Questions on GSA
Since Governor Jerry Brown signed The Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) into law in September 2014, local agencies within the Modesto Sub-basin have been hard at work tackling the tough issues of governance and Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA) formation. Within the Modesto Sub-basin, the Stanislaus and Tuolumne Rivers Groundwater Basin Association (STRGBA) has committed to collaboratively working together to form one GSA for the Modesto Sub-basin. In 2015 we approved a revised Memorandum of Understanding bringing the only remaining local agency - the City of Waterford - within the Modesto Sub-basin into the fold. With only seven local agencies and “tight” geographical boundaries, the STRGBA is poised to become a GSA in 2016, well before the established deadline of June 2017.
